Behind the Pros: Uduak Oduok of Ebitu Law Group
This past Friday, Carrie Hammer kicked off her Fall Fashion Week Preview show, “Role Models Not Runway Models” with captivating and accomplished females. We were lucky enough to grab the first in line to hit the runway, Uduak Oduok, a fashion entertainment lawyer at Ebitu Law Group and entrepreneur at heart.
What are 3 of your best networking tips for business professionals and entrepreneurs?
First of all, I would say be part of an organization, a woman organization that can help empower you. Second, find a mentor and people that believe in you and what you’re about. And last, be confident. You’ve got to put yourself out there in order to meet people. It shouldn’t be about how many business cards you can collect. Build relationships – they’ll serve you in the long run.
Who is your biggest role model and why?
I actually have two, my mother and older sister. Actually all the women in my life because they have supported me through thick and thin and really, there is nothing better than leading by example.
What’s the weirdest piece of clothing in your closet?
Wow, let me see. It’s probably a Gucci belt that belongs to one of my really good friends who is into fashion. It’s got all these interesting rainbow colors and I’m always trying to think of what I can wear it with, but haven’t quite been able to put a look together yet.
